What an incredible experience! Witnessing the birth of our first grandchild … he is the most precious, perfect boy  - and born on Ostara – the Day of the Spring Equinox: “As Spring reaches its midpoint, night and day stand in perfect balance, with light on the increase. The young Sun God now celebrates a hierogamy (sacred marriage) with the young Maiden Goddess, who conceives.” My dear friend Joan Crager participated in an Ostara ceremony on his birth day and said it was one of the most powerful she has every been a part of … and under a completely full moon — he will be completely supported for a great life by all that surround him…

WELCOME! This is a brand new blog, and I’m just getting everything figured out. So, please check back often and post your comments…Acoustic Mojo is Dianna Burrup and Bryan Huling. We have been writing and making music together for over 20 years and currently perform mostly coffee houses and smaller venues, playing mostly original music and a few of our favorite covers. The Mojo Cafe is an evening where we invite other great local musicians to join us for a 2 hour show. It is always a GREAT time.We could be playing at Agora Cafe sometime in early 2007 … so watch this blog! This is a great little coffee house just east of the traffic circle at Fontana Shopping Center, 51st and Memorial. Sorry kids, no booze, but they have great coffee and hot chocolate, and the music will certainly be intoxicating. Also, just opened 6 weeks ago in Broken on Main Street, The Blend Coffeehouse. They have done a fantastic job decorating and making this space comfortable and inviting and I can’t wait to play there. 1st date is Friday, January 12th. More Acoustic Cafe’s coming this year with our incredibly talented musician friends around this Great City. We’ll let you know who will be joining us for the cafe’s … you simply must come out, ’cause you know, it’s never the same without you.

Di: This National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough Tenn was extraordinarly well organized. There were 6 tents scattered around the historic downtown area, all within 3 blocks of each other. The biggest tent would probably hold about 2,500 folks (That’s what the Brady holds!). The others around 1,500.

Di: We did not get a count for this year, but last year they had over 10,000 attendees. This was also the 34th Annual Festival, so they been doing this a very long time. No tolerance for camera’s or filiming in ANY of the tents, so I just got a few outside shots …

Di:The grounds were beautiful … I’m on one of the many paths around the downtown area that was beautifully landscapped. As usual, DJ told me to lift my top …

Di: Our favorite Comedic Storyteller was Kevin Kling … He has been featured many times on NPR and really must be SEEN to be appreciated. He told stories of taxidermy, Valentines Day and adventures in marching band, all from his school days. He had the ability to make an audience laugh and cry (I mean a touching, heartfelt cry) in the span of about a minute.

Di: Here we are at Linnville Falls, located in the Applachia Mountains in NC. We took a day trip here and hiked through the woods for about an hour. It was quite a workout. I had my hiking dress on, of course. As we were emerging from the woods, two women just starting into the woods in passing said, “Oh Look, Hippies!” We all got a good laugh out of that …

Di: Later that same day, we went to Grandfather Mountain. DJ went all the way to the top of it. I was a little nervous about the climb in my sandals. It was stunningly beautiful up there … over 5,800 feet up. Here’s the Mile High Swinging Bridge and only 40 people can be on it at a time.
